BLOCKCHAIN
Visualising the hashing algorithm in the blockchain
Prototype Cube
With the previous prototype made I decided to make a vector design and put it under the lasercutter. When you pulled the tabs you could see that instead of hash codes there are cute little patterns.

I also decided to try a little pop up but it didn’t work out as well as I thought it would.

I had the idea of making some kind of book and explain blockchain step by step, but in the end Rick and I decided that it would be way too flat for the visualisation we could be making.
We decided to combine both of our ideas for the exposition. Instead of making a pop up or pull out book, I decided to use the techniques I learned and make a big sheet of paper where Rick’s idea can lean onto.
In sort of a collaboration between Marjolijn and me we came up with the idea to scale up a
prototype. Making the prototype a 30cm x 30cm x 30cm cube. The cube is made of 4mm MDF
and is laser cutted from an illustrator file. ( vector ) The cube features and elaborate elevator
system, enabling users to continue their puzzle on the same level as the box’s top. Personally I
didn’t like the oversized design. I thought the cube was way to big and lost all it’s elegance. The
elevator system unfortunately wasn’t very user friendly so I had to iterate one last time.
TO DO LIST!

New iteration in prototype.

Prepare Expo
I've made this prototype using MDF and the lasercutter. The vector was made on illustrator.
